Magnetos, driving. - In trip mechanism for actuating a magneto armature and a movable sparking terminal, all mounted on the cylinder head 1, the push rod 14 is mounted on a vibrating member such as the pivoted lever 19 worked from the side shaft and the magneto, the sparking- plug, and the actuating-mechanism are carried by the bracket 7, 10 bolted on the cylinder head. The trip mechanism 9, 14 is described in Specification 118,105. The push-rod 14 is pivoted on an adjustable eccentric bush 23' on a pin 21 carried by the lever 19, and is normally held in its uppermost position by a coiled spring 25, 26. The lever 19 is worked by a crank on the side shaft by means of a connecting link 27 having interchangeable parts 27<a> of different lengths to adapt the gear to different engines.
