Abstract

1281174 Measuring cardiac vectors MUSZERIPARI KUTATO INTEZET 11 July 1969 [11 July 1968] 32437/69 Heading G1N Apparatus for determining the magnitude and angular orientation of a spotial cardiac vector comprises squaring, summing and square root extraction circuits which produce a voltage representing the magnitude |V| of the cardiac vector |V|=#(Vx<SP>2</SP>)+(Vy)<SP>2</SP>+(Vz)<SP>2</SP>, where Vx, Vy, Vz are the components in a three-dimensional rectangular co-ordinate system of the cardiac vector which components are derived using the biocurrents flowing in a known electro-cardiograph lead system RA to H. Further circuit blocks produce voltages representing an angle of between the projection of the cardiac vector on to the x-z plane and the z or x axis and an angle w between the cardiac vector and the projection. The measured magnitude |V| and angular orientations #, w are displayed on three channels of a four channel recorder sz of which the fourth channel displays a selected waveform of the known P, Q, R, S, ST and T waves so as to identify the resultant cardiac vector.
