Abstract
1281046 Article storage and dispensing apparatus S DURKAN 26 Sept 1969 [26 Sept 1968] 47550/69 Heading A4T Apparatus storing and dispensing casks, cans 8, Fig.1 comprises at least two inclined stationary shoots 3, 5, 6, 4 one above the other, the casks rolling down towards a dispensing gate formed by a plate horizontally pivoted at 17 and weighted at 18 and a removable stop 20. A vertical endless belt lifts the casks on pivoted flaps 14 to the beginning of the top shoot 3 and at the bottom of each shoot a transfer means in the form a rotary vane, the vanes 11a-b of which pass through slots in the ends of the shoots, guides the casks without contacting each other around a curved extension 9 of the next lower shoot on to the beginning of that shoot. The casks are stored on the shoots which may have intermediate pivoted plates similar to that at 17. If a shoot lies in two vertical intersecting planes, a cask 8f , Fig.4, rolls on to a platform 25 on a spring- loaded screw 27, whereby its weight turns and lowers the platform. The platform also tilts so that the casks changes its rolling direction from shoot portion 33 to portion 34. The apparatus may comprise several storage sections, may be served by one endless belt, may be used in a warehouse, shop or vehicle and incorporate heating or cooling equipment.
