Abstract

1280936 Two-part couplings F BEKHIET and M BEKHIET 7 Oct 1970 [24 Aug 1970] 47686/70 Heading H2E A connector comprises a contact-carrier 3 secured in an insulating housing 1, by resilient lugs 7 on the carrier engaging openings 8 in the housing, there being one or more abutments in the housing to limit the depth of insertion of the carrier. The carrier 3 comprises a plastics material moulded into a metal screening and guide bush 5, the lugs 7 projecting through slots 6 in the bush 5, and abuts against a metal screening sleeve 2 to limit its depth of insertion. In other embodiments (not shown) the guide bush is of plastics moulded integrally with the carrier and the sleeve 2 is replaced by a plastics sleeve or by lugs (10) formed on the inside of the housing. Contact-carriers may be mounted one at each end of the housing with a sleeve acting as a spacer therebetween, to form an adapter.
