Abstract

1280890 Dyeing polyurethanes INMONT CORP 5 Aug 1969 [6 Aug 1968] 39174/69 Heading D1B Microporous polyurethanes e.g. leather substitutes, are dyed by impregnating with a dyebath containing 0.1-21% by weight of a solvent dye and an organic solvent for the dye which is not a solvent for the polyurethane, removing excess dye liquor and drying the polyurethane. Preferably metallized mono azo dyes are used in methanol as solvent, preferred dyes being of formula I: in which n is 1 or 2. A is selected from coupling components which may be phenolic, naphtholic, or enolic X is a metallisable group in ortho position to the azo group.
