Abstract
1280482 Hoppers of variable capacity SERVICE D'EXPLOITATION INDUSTRIELLE DES TABACS ET DES ALLUMETTES 2 July 1969 [2 July 1968] 33306/69 Heading B8S Cigars resting on surfaces 14 and 15 are displaced by pushers 12 and 13 to fall into a receptacle 16 from which they fall on to platform 17 of a compartment 18 to be filled. Platform 17 descends until compartment 18 is free, whereupon arms 19 and 20 move inwards to hold the cigars within receptacle 16 and to prevent further discharge. Compartment 18 is removed and replaced by an empty compartment, the platform 17 being employed therein. At the same time the walls 27 and 28 of receptacle 16 are displaced upwards carrying with them arms 19 and 20. This diminishes the size of receptacle 16. However, sides 27 and 28 are bent outwards and slotted and co-operate with walls 29 and 30 pivotted at 31 and 32 controlled by photo devices 33 and 34. Arms 29 and 30 move outwards to maintain a constant level of cigars within the receptacle although new cigars are being fed thereto. The walls 27 and 28 together with arms 19 and 20 then move downwards towards the new compartment 18 and arms 19 and 20 move outwards to permit the discharge of the cigars into the compartment and at the same time walls 29 and 30 move inwards to their initial position.
