Abstract

1280157 Racks INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 20 Oct 1969 [18 July 1968] 34211/68 Heading A4B In a rack, e.g. for pallets, of the type comprising spaced uprights 1 inter-connected by detachable bearer beams 6, each upright 1 is of channel section and is formed in its web 1a with a row of openings 4 with upwardly divergent side edges 4c each provided with a flange 4d projecting into the interior of the upright 1. Each beam 6 is provided at each end with an angle section anchor plate 7 provided with a plurality of hooks 7c engageable in the openings 4, each hook having a shank portion 7f bent rearwardly from a stem portion 7c such that the plane of the shank 7f is inclined at the same angle as the slot edges 4c whereby as the hooks 7c are lowered after passage through the openings 4, the shanks 7f and edges 4c inter-engage to draw an anchor plate flange 7a against the upright side 1d. The openings 4 are formed by cutting the web 1a and pressing the flanges 4d rearwardly. Each upright 1 includes longitudinal reinforcing grooves 1b Tongues 7d on the plate 7 bear on the web 1a to prevent rock. A wedge 8 may be inserted in an opening 4 above an engaged hook 7c to prevent inadvertent disengagement. A removable locking pin 9 is engaged in a hole 8a in an inserted wedge 8 to prevent its removal. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1, 226, 326.
