1280127 Making magnetic heads PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [10 March 1970] 23232/71 Heading G5R Two ferrite parts 1, 2 are clamped together, separated by spacers 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, 9<SP>11</SP>, 9<SP>111</SP> having a thickness equal to the desired gap length, and are heated at their gap-defining surfaces to substantially the flow temperature of a non- magnetizable gap-filler material, e.g. glass or enamel, of which a quantity is heated to its flow temperature and then applied to the gap, into which it is sucked by capillary action, and the assembly is then coded. Initially the gapfiller material is heated until it is free of bubbles.
