Abstract

1279869 Cementitious compositions DENKI KAGAKU KOGYO KABUSHIKI 18 July 1969 36401/69 Heading C1H [Also in Division F2] A mainly calcium sulphoaluminate cement expanding agent is mixed with between 4 and 24 times its weight of Portland cement to reduce shrinkage and resulting cracking. The mixture is used to form at least the innermost layer of a concrete pipe reinforced with straight and helical metal rods. When the cement expanding agent is incorporated throughout the pipe its concentration in the innermost layer is equal to or greater than that of the outer layer. The cement expanding agent is characterized by a molar CaO/Al 2 O 3 ratio of between 2 and 6, and a molar CaSO 4 /Al 2 O 3 ratio of between 2 and 4, and comprises pulverized, sintered particles, those less than 44 microns representing less than 10%, those between 44 and 250 microns representing more than 70%, and those larger than 250 microns representing less than 20%. The pipes may be prepared by centrifugal moulding curing in the mould until strong enough to be removed, then further curing by immersion in, or spraying with, water.
