Abstract

1279616 Plaster compositions DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd 19 Nov 1969 [23 Nov 1968] 55652/68 Heading C1H [Also in Division C3] A plaster composition comprises an aqueous emulsion of a polymer of a vinyl ester of a carboxylic acid having a quaternary alpha carbon atom. Plasters specified are cementitious calcium sulphates such as the hemihydrate, the anhydrous salt with or without the hemihydrate, the dihydrate, and " dead burnt gypsum ". Clay and whiting, may also be included. In the example plaster compositions contain from 1 to 8% by weight of an aqueous emulsion of a copolymer of vinyl acetate and a mixture of vinyl esters derived from a mixture of saturated tertiary carboxylic acids of empirical formula C 9-11 H 18-22 O 2 , and dead burnt gypsum.
