Abstract

1279087 Interlining BONDINA Ltd 11 Nov 1969 [27 Nov 1968] 56297/68 Heading B2E An interlining is made by printing on to a fabric in a pattern an aqueous solution of a thickener in which is emulsified another liquid, scattering thermoplastic particles on to the fabric, removing particles which do not adhere, and fusing the remainder. The particulate material may be applied in a fluidised bed. The printing pattern may be a series of dots, and the fabric may be non-woven. The thickener may be a cellulose ether, carboxymethyl cellulose or ammonium polymethacrylate. The other liquid may be a plasticiser for the thermoplastic particles, and the composition may also include solid plasticisers or solid thickeners, e.g. talc, silica. Polyamide may be used so that thermosplastic material, in which case the particles can include a melting-point depressant, e.g. urea, thiourea, dicyandiamide, and the composition can include solid and liquid sulphonamide plasticisers.
