Abstract
1278945 Pulse pattern generation BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP Ltd 6 Oct 1970 [7 Oct 1969] 49187/69 Heading H3P [Also in Division G4] A pulse pattern is generated by progressively filling from a clock source first and second registers which are initially partly filled, resetting the first register, when full, to its initial partly filled state while the supply of clock pulses to the registers is momentarily interrupted and terminating the clock supply when the second register is full, the output pattern being derived by logic circuitry from the first register. In response to "address 1" a register 2 is partly parallel filled from register 1 which was prefilled by "address 4" and register 3 is partly parallel filled by "address 5". In response to a start command a bi-stable circuit B1 is set and clock pulses step up the registers. When register 2 is full a mono-stable circuit M1 produces a pulse which operates an OR gate G1 to cause the register 2 to be refilled to its original initial value, the mono-stable pulse via line 10 also blocking the clock supply while refilling is effected. The repeated filling of register 2 continues until register 3 is full, whereupon its output resets B1 to terminate operation. The outputs of the. register 2 stages (Fig. 2) are applied to AND gates together with the outputs of bi-stables B3-B6 which are preset in accordance with the desired output pulse pattern. The AND gates control start and stop gates which in turn control a bi-stable circuit B2 supplying the circuit output. The pattern can be varied by varying the logic and the prefilling of the registers. In addition, further registers such as 1 and 2 may be provided.
