Abstract

1278857 Drafting apparatus T H MILWARD 21 May 1971 [18 June 1970] 29608/70 Heading G1X Drafting apparatus to enable a number of parallel lines to be drawn comprises a pair of scales 15, 21 at right angles to each other, or a backing sheet having a square grid displayed thereon with which is associated a pair of straight edges which may be the edges of a set square 10 or the edges of the nominal scales of a drafting machine. Small slidably adjustable scales 13, 14 are provided on the set square or the drafting machine and are associated with the straight edges and co-operate with the scales 15, 21 on the grid on the backing paper. The arrangement is such that one of the small slidable scales 13, 14 is aligned with a datum on one of the scales 15, 21 or with a datum on the grid of the backing paper and a line is drawn against the associated straight edge, whereafter the associated straight edge is moved to align the small slidable scale with a point on the same scale or on the grid of the backing paper spaced a predetermined distance from the datum whereupon a second line is drawn against the associated straight edge.
