1278323 Platform elevators for loading vehicles HYDRAULMEKANO AB 5 May 1969 [3 May 1968] 22752/69 Headings B8E and B8H A lifting platform 1 is raised and lowered by a cylinder C1 coacting with a linkage 21. A loading flap 2 pivoted to the platform 1 bridges the gap to a vehicle 3 to be loaded or unloaded. Variations in the height of the vehicle 3 are automatically compensated by control means comprising limit switches LS.2, LS.3 coacting with rings 7, 8 adjustably mounted on a rod 5 extending between the flap 2 and the platform 1 in parallel with a cylinder C2. If the vehicle 3 rises, e.g. due to unloading, the flap 2 pivots upwardly actuating LS.3 causing the cylinder C1 to raise the platform 1 to restore the initial condition. Conversely, a fall in the vehicle 3 actuates LS.2 resulting in the platform 1 being lowered. A predetermined, preferably horizontal attitude of the flap 2 is thus maintained. Limit switch LS.4, in series with LS.2, LS.3 (Fig. 4, not shown), determines the range over which the device operates, while limit switch LS.1 ensures that the flap 2 is swung upwards fully before the platform 1 is fully lowered.
