Abstract

1278322 Moulding building panels H W HAYNES 7 April 1970 [9 April 1969] 18308/69 Heading B5A [Also in Division E1] A method of moulding building panels comprises placing a layer of wet finish material, e.g. plaster of Paris in a horizontal mould then adding a mixture of plastics granules, sand and cement, adding a water-proof layer and finally adding a layer of wet sand and cement mix. The ratio of components in the granule, sand, cement, mixture lies in the range 9-3-2 to 3-3-2 respectively, the granules being between # and # inch diameter. The final layer may be tinted to simulate bricks and a flat or cylindrical grill may be used to mould brick patterns on the layer. The water proof layer may be a layer of plastics material such as a polystyrene sheet. A method of constructing buildings using these panels is disclosed in which the panels are secured to an open framework of uprights 1<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, by locking bars 9 which co-operate with plates 4, 4a secured, e.g. by welding, to the uprights 1. In a similar use of the panels, Fig. 2, the locking bars 9 are each located in a slot of a panel and co-operates with plates 4, 4a secured to uprights of square cross-section.
