1277893 Random number selector J M SAMSON 5 June 1969 28550/69 Heading A6H A game apparatus for random number selection comprises a base 10 and a device mounted 20 on said base; said base having an upwardly facing playing surface 17 and six or a whole multiple of six partitions 18 upstanding from said playing surface and extending towards the centre of the base said playing surface 17 being inclined upwardly towards the centre of said base and having in the centre a slightly elevated upwardly convex circular region 15; said device 20 having a central vertical passageway 29 extending therethrough and at least one of said base and said device having indicia thereon which align with compartments 11 which are between adjacent partitions 18; the arrangement being such that when the apparatus rests on a horizontal support and a ball slightly smaller in diameter than the diameter of the said passageway 29 is dropped into the passageway 29, the ball will fall through the passageway onto said convex region 15 at the centre thereof and will then at random take a path into one of said compartments 11. In the particular embodiment shown the device 20 rests on the horizontal surfaces 24 of the partitions 18 with the outer facing surfaces of the fingers 25 engaging the inner facing surface 27 of the device which also has a lug 30 which engages between to adjacent partitions so that indicia on device 20 are. aligned with compartments 11. In a further embodiment not shown the device is a transparent lid which is rotatably fixed to the base and has an aperture therein so that the ball may may be recovered from the compartment. The indicia in this case are on the base. In another embodiment the device is a funnel on a supporting tripod whose legs are connected to three of the partitions. The upwardly convex circular region may be replaced by a six or twelve sided pyramid.
