Abstract

1277878 Electric ignition means for gas burners CANNON INDUSTRIES Ltd 8 Sept 1969 [6 Sept 1968] 42454/68 Headings F4F and F4T Electric ignition means for gas burners comprises an L-shaped lever bar 16 one flange 21 of which engages a spring loaded plunger 22 which on depression actuates a spark gap electric ignitor switch 23 while the other flange engages abutment members 15 mounted on spindles 13 of rotary burner taps 11, so that on actuation of any tap 11 the member 15 is moved so as to pivot bar 16 about spring loaded pin 17 to actuate switch 23. The abutment member may be moved axially of the spindle or rotated on the spindle. The electric ignitor circuit includes a delay device which allows sparking to continue for sufficient time for the gas to reach the burner flame ports.
