Abstract

1277694 Change-speed gear BARKASWERKE-VEB 3 Feb 1970 5094/70 Heading F2D In an automatic planetary change-speed gear on a motor-vehicle, an externally toothed wheel 9, fast on the output shaft 19, for engagement by a stationary pivoted pawl 7, for park lock, is arranged adjacent a similar externally toothed wheel 8, attached to the planet-carrier, for engagement by a similar pawl 6, to lock the carrier for reverse and also for two-way manual low. The two pawls 6, 7 turn on longitudinal pivots at one side of the casing, Fig. 2, not shown, and their free ends, at the other side, are connected by a rocker beam 20, pivoted centrally to the casing to permit single pawl engagement only. The pawls 6, 7 have cam-surfaces 6<SP>1</SP>, 7<SP>1</SP> for actuation by a roller 18 on a shift lever 17, operated through springs 16, 16<SP>1</SP> by a rod 15, linked to the manual shift control, not shown. The gear includes hydraulically engaged selector clutches 2, 3 and brakes 4, 5 and a one-way brake 12. The brake 5 is applied to the planet-carrier for retarding it prior to engagement of the lock-pawl 6 on entering reverse or two-way manual low.
