Abstract
1277292 Furniture joints HELLMUTH SWOBODA 16 May 1969 [21 May 1968] 25189/69 Heading A4H [Also in Division E1] An elongated plastics member for connecting plates &c. comprises one or more tubes R1, R2, R3 from which extend webs having extensions at their free ends, the spaces between the webs receiving the plates. The extensions may be I, L, U and T-shaped, see Fig.2 (not shown). The extensions be separate and may have grooves that fit over the webs, Figs.3 and 4 (not shown); they may be welded or adhered to the webs, or the extensions may comprise resilient plastics and may have a recess in the groove engaging a spline on the web. The extensions may have convex or concave bearing surfaces, Fig.5 (not shown). The plates may extend at 90 degrees or at 45 degrees to the webs, sponge or foam rubber packings being provided or filler members (F) Fig.8 (not shown) may be provided. The plates can be attached to the webs by screws Figs. 9, 14 (not shown). Ribs 21 mount square inserts for fixing the member to the ground or ceiling. The member may have a single web (E) Fig.10 (not shown) for attachment to a wall or ceiling or the member may be attached to a wall by glueing or by screws through holes (23) Figs.19, 20 (not shown). The tube may be of angular shape Figs.16, 17 (not shown).
