1277281 Metal silicides ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 13 Aug 1969 [14 Aug 1968] 40457/69 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions C7 and H1] In Example 1, W(Si x Al y ) 2 in the form of a powder with a specific surface area of 50 m.<SP>2</SP>/g. is formed by heating a mixture of WSi 2 and Al at 1600‹ C. in an inert atmosphere and boiling the product with HCl to remove excess Al. In Example 2, NbSi x Cu y of surface area 8 m.<SP>2</SP>/g. is similarly prepared from NbSi 2 and Cu at 1800‹ C. using H 2 SO 4 to remove excess Cu. NbSi x Ag y is also referred to.
