1277040 Blow-moulded bottles UNILEVER Ltd 14 July 1969 35322/69 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] A plastics bottle is extrusion-blow moulded from a tube so that the bottle has a cylindrical main body part, and, in a longitudinal section, an externally convex shoulder region or first transition zone and an externally concave second transition zone between the shoulder and neck, the mould cavity being such that the length of preform between the innermost points at which it is gripped by the mould is L, the height of the shoulder region is 0À5-0À6 L, the radius of curvature r3 of the shoulder region decreasing from # to between a “D and 2D, preferably D to 2D, where D is the external diameter of the main body part, and the radius of curvature, r5, of the concave region has a value of 0 to 6 mm., and is preferably 0À5-3 mm.
