Abstract

1276915 Travelling-wave tubes ENGLISH ELECTRIC VALVE CO Ltd 6 July 1970 [12 Sept 1969] 45047/69 Heading H1D A detachable cooling arrangement for the collector 1 of a travelling-wave tube, adjustable to permit aligning of the tube within its focusing mount, is formed by a copper or brass block 7, which may be finned, which is attached to the focusing mount for the tube, and which is apertured at 8 to receive the collector. The collector is gripped by spaced collet jaws 2, shaped to mate with the collector surface, and urged against the latter by springs 5 secured to collet shoes 3 which are a sliding fit within grooves 6 formed in the block 7, and which engage flat mating surfaces on the collet jaws to permit sliding contact therewith. The positions of the collet shoes within the grooves 6 are adjustable, by means not disclosed, to permit adjustment of the tube with respect to its focusing mount.
