Abstract

1276058 Photographic cameras CANON K K 25 July 1970 36168/70 Heading G2A In a photographic camera 1, the space 4 between , a film supply chamber 3 and a light shield 2 contains a date recording device which comprises a cylindrical member (22), Fig. 2 (not shown), supporting three rings (19, 20, 21) for the day, month and year respectively, the member containing a light source (17) operated in synchronism with the camera shutter to illuminate a slit (23) in the member (22). The rings (19-21) carry appropriate markings, one marking of each ring being positioned at the slit (23) for imaging, via a mirror 7 and lens 8, on to a portion of film F in the exposure station 2. Associated with each ring (19-21) is a further ring (24-26), a portion of which is visible in a window 29. Each further ring has an associated gear 44-46 which is turned by hand to set the further ring, and hence the ring (19-21) to the appropriate marking. A shield 9 is provided to block the light path from the date recording device except when the shutter is operated. A changeover member is also provided to lock the shield 9 when it is not desired to record a date. An indication of date recording may be provided in the camera view-finder.
