1275821 Agricultural spreading implement C VAN DER LELY NV 10 Feb 1969 [16 Feb 1968 21 Nov 1968] Heading AID An agricultural spreading implement has an elongated material container and a feeder member rotatably supported therein and extending lengthwise of the container, in which one feeder member support means is a bearing in a support releasably attached to an apertured wall at one end of the container, and the other support means comprises a socket which allows, when the first support means is unfastened from the container, the feeder member to be axially withdrawn through the apertured wall of the container. In one embodiment plates 10, Figs. 3 and 4, comprises ends of the material container on one of which a bearing carrying plate 22 is attached via wing nuts 23 over an aperture through which the feeder member 18, comprised of parallel rods 19 set about a circumference, passes. The other end of feeder 18 carries a profiled socket 18 cooperating with a similarly profiled end of a shaft 26 which is driven by sprocket 44 and chain 43. The container bottom is curved and contains triangular openings 14 and a slidable masking member 15 containing similar openings 17 by which the flow of material from the container may be regulated. In a second embodiment a hopper 54, Figs. 6 and 7, extending lengthwise of the implement contains a helical prong rotary feeder member 57 feeding material to a centrifugal discharge at the rear. At the forward end a profiled boss of feeder member tube 58 fits into similarly profiled socket 63 which is attached to driven stub shaft 65. At the rearward end tube 58 terminates a stub shaft 70 which is received in bearing 71, itself being removably detatchable via wing nuts 74 on its support plate 73 from over a large aperture 75 in the hopper rear wall. In a third embodiment two hoppers extend transversely of the direction of travel of the implement and contain feeder members 90, Fig. 11, each comprising a tube 91 having stub shafts 92 and 93 at each end and a plurality of dosing members 102. Each feeder member 90 is driven from driven sprocket 124 which has on the end of its stub staft 125 an arm 126A with a profiled projection 127 which engages with a face 99 on arm 98 attached to stub shaft 92. Each stub shaft 93 is journalled in support plate 100 removably detachable via wing nuts 101 to the hopper end wall, and which covers an aperture through which the feed member 90 may be axially withdrawn when plate 94 comes away from dowel pin 96. Apertures in the bottom of each hopper and slidable masking members are also provided.
