Abstract

696,325. Powder distributers. JOHNSTON. J. W. June 9, 1952 [June 8, 1951], No. 13618/51. Class 6(i) A powder distributer comprises one or more conical hoppers 7, each hopper having a removable perforated bottom wall 8 in which the perforations are contersunk on the underside. Spinner blades 10 carried by a rotatable shaft 9 each have a front part inclined forwards in the direction of rotation and extending in a curve from the shaft such that the outer end of the blade is in advance of the curved body portion. Scraper blades 11 are mounted in the shaft and curve outwards and forwards in the direction of rotation. The bottom wall 8 is replaceable by a wall having perforations of greater or smaller size. A flexible or rigid tubular wind guard may be detachably mounted below the hopper. A plurality of hoppers are mounted on a framework provided with supporting wheels. The shafts 9 of the several hoppers are driven by chain gearing from the axle of one of the supporting wheels.
