Abstract

1275177 Polymers containing isoxazole groups LABOFINA SA 6 Oct 1970 [28 May 1970] 25802/70 Heading C3R A novel polymer contains isoxazole groups, methylene groups and phenylene groups in linear chains. It may contain units of formula and units of formula where Ar is a phenylene group with valencies in the meta or para positions, the units being randomly distributed. The polymer is obtained by reacting a polydiethynylbenzene of formula where n is an integer, with hydroxylamine which may be generated in situ from hydroxylamine chlorohydrate and a base. An example is given. Uses.-Heat resistant articles, fibres and films.
