Abstract

1,274,296. Electrophotographic material. KALLE A.G. 25 Nov., 1969 [27 Nov., 1968], No. 57683/69. Heading H1K. [Also in Divisions C3 and G2] An electrophotographic material comprises a dissolvable layer which is both photoconductive and rendered insoluble by photopolymerization at a light intensity greater than that required to produce an image thereon. The material is preferably a compound of formula wherein R 1 is phenyl or dialkylamino phenyl and R 2 is phenyl or chlorophenyl. The material may be coated as an organic solvent solution together with a phenol formaldehyde or maleic acid resin or copoly styrene-maleic anhydride and a sensitizing dye on a sheet of paper, plastics, roughened aluminium foil or an aluminium plate coated with copper and chromium to give a plate suitable for the production of printing formes.
