Abstract
1,274,012. Photoconductive composition. INTERNATIONAL PAPER CO. 13 May, 1969, No. 24234/69. Heading H1K. In a process of dispersing zinc oxide in a resinous binder which comprises two incompatible resins one resin being a polymer of vinyl acetate, the zinc oxide is dispersed in at least one of the resins at a temperature of no more than 12‹ C., or of no more than just above the dew point at room temperature if the dew point is higher than 12‹ C. In the embodiment ZnO is ground in a toluene + xylene solution of polyvinyl acetate using a heat exchanger to keep the temperature below 15À6‹ C. To the ground solution is added more polyvinyl acetate and also styrenated alkyd resin. The composition is coated on paper to give an electrophotographic element.
