Abstract
1,273,383. Migration imaging. XEROX CORP. April 30, 1969 [May 1, 1968], No. 51792/71. Divided out of 1, 273, 382. Heading G2H. [Also in Division B6] A migration imaging process uses an imaging member comprising a layer of mechanicallycontinuous, non-fracturable migration material spaced apart from at least one surface of, but contacting, a softenable layer, and comprises softening the softenable layer and applying a migration force so that imagewise migration of said material occurs in depth in the softenable layer. The migration force may be electrostatic as in Specification 1,152,365 or non-electrostatic (e.g. magnetic) as in parent Specification 1, 273,382. Either the softening or the migration force is imagewise.
