Abstract

1,273,363. Clamps. M. PASBRIG. 29 April, 1969 [2 May, 1968; 17 July, 1968, (3); 25 Sept., 1968], No. 52178/71. Divided out of 1,273,361. Addition to 1,217,911. Headings E2A and E2B. A tensioning connecting device for releasable clamping and tensioning a flexible connecting element, comprises a housing, a recess in the housing for accommodating the connecting element, at least one inlet aperture and at least one outlet aperture, which apertures communicate with the recess and through which the connecting element can be passed, a spring-loaded clamping member within the housing, the clamping member being so arranged that it is urged into a clamping position to clamp the inserted connecting element in the housing when the connecting element tends to move outwardly of the inlet aperture, but is moved into an unclamping position when the connecting element is moved inwardly of the inlet aperture, to permit the connecting element to be pulled through the housing, and a connecting element tensioning lever which is pivotably carried on the housing and which carries means for securing to the lever the portion of the connecting element which extends outwardly from the outlet aperture, to pull the connecting element through the housing when the lever is pivoted in one direction. As shown in Fig. 1 a cable 801 is supported and clamped in a housing 1 which is pivoted to the housing 1 and carries a by an eye or hook 804. A forked lever 806 is arranged to be attached to a fixed support sleeve or lug 809 about which the cable is wound for tensioning purposes. In another arrangement Fig. 4, the lever 806 is provided with a spring loaded clamping member 816, which acts in opposition to a damping element in the housing 1 and which in further arrangements, Figs. 5-10 (not shown), is releasable by means of a slide 818, a handle 825, a handle 839 and. a handle 846, respectively. In another arrangement, Fig. 11 (not shown), the cable is clamped on the lever 806 between a disc 826 and an eccentrically mounted disc 827 and in a further arrangement Fig. 12 (not shown) the cable is releasably clamped to the lever 806 by a serrated clamping member (816). The clamping member 816 may be replaced by alternative forms described with reference to Figs. 13-20, (not shown). Specification 1,273,361 and Specification 1,273,362 are referred to.
