Abstract

1,271,781. Knitting machines. FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE S.A. 28 Jan., 1970 [17 March, 1969], No. 4061/70. Heading D1C. Narrowing or widening points, for a parallel knitting machine, are movable parallel to the associated needle bed, towards and away from the plane of the needle bed and angularly about an axis passing through the tips of the points. In a machine having needle beds 2, 3 with needles 4, 5 the points 9 are carried on a carriage 10 which is moved by a rod 13 along guide rods 11, 12 secured to shoes 14 carried on pivots 21 whose extended axes pass through the tips of points 9. Shoes 14 have rollers 15 engaging the ends 16 of levers 17 controlled from the main cam shaft 8. Each pivot 21 is connected to a shaft 23 pivoted to slides 24 by a lever 22 having at its end a roller 25 engaging a lever (27), Fig. 5 (not shown) controlled from the main cam shaft (8), Fig. 1 (not shown). Slides 24, which move on slideway 31 are connected by a lever 32 to a pivoted lever 33 controlled from main cam shaft (8).
