Abstract
1,271,708. Particle analysis. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. Oct. 31, 1969 [Nov.2, 1968], No.53583/69. Heading G1N. In a "Coulter" type apparatus for determining the size distribution of particles in a liquid suspension, the sample liquid is injected through a capillary 12 mounted coaxially with and a short distance from the aperture 4 so that it is conveyed into the centre of the stream of electrolyte flowing through the aperture to reduce the error due to simultaneous passage of two particles, and those travelling slowly near the walls. The mouth of the aperture is preferably funnel shaped as shown, and the capillary outlet is nozzle shaped, and silicone coated.
