Abstract

1,271,414. Handling thin material. MINNESOTA MINING & MFG. CO. 6 Aug., 1969 [7 Aug., 1968], No. 39467/69. Heading B8R. [Also in Division G2] A device for cleaning a web, e.g. a microfilm recording, comprises blocks 5, 6 defining a chamber having an entrance slot 11 and an exit slot 12 through which the web passes, the chamber containing opposed brushes 7, 8 which are vibrated by the flow of air through passages 16, 17 to sweep the web. Dust and lint from the web are carried away from the brushes and are drawn into grooves 18 adjacent the entrance slot 11, the grooves being connected to a source of negative pressure.
