[Also in Division C3] The invention comprises compounds of the Formula I where TPG is a tripropylene glycol radical with two OH groups removed, x is 1 to 20, and R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen, alkyl, phenyl, C 1-4 alkyl-substituted phenyl, phenyl-substituted alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, hydroxy alkyl, or are combined to form, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, a ring of the Formula II where R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are hydrogen, C 1-10 alkyl, phenyl, hydroxy-, halogen- or alkyl substituted phenyl, or two adjacent R<SP>1</SP> groups can be combined to form an unsaturated linkage, and Z is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4. The compounds of Formula I, which may be used to produce a polyurethane by reaction with a polyisocyanate, may be prepared by reacting a phosphonate of the Formula III with a suitable amine.
