Abstract

1,270,532. Motorized golf trolleys. P. A. NORTH. 23 May, 1969 [24 Feb., 1968], No. 9069/68. Heading B7H. A motorized golf trolley including a support platform 1 for a golf bag 2 is supported by a single driven ground engaging roller 3 having a hollow cylindrical casing 7 which accommodates a pair of electric motors 18, 19 for driving the roller. A plate 8 secured to one end of the roller 3 has a sleeve 11 journalled by needle bearings on a shaft 13, and an internal web 12 in the roller is journalled on the shaft 13 by roller bearings. Bars 4, 5 secured to the shaft 13 carry the support platform 1 and a handle 6 respectively. A plate 17 secured to the shaft 13 carries the motors 18, 19. A driving belt 22 is entrained around pulleys 21 provided on the motors and a pulley 20 secured to the sleeve 11. A switch 28 actuated through a cable 31 by a manual control on the handle 6 supplies the motors 18, 19 from a battery 15 carried by a battery housing 14 secured to the end of the shaft 13. A plate 9 attached by bolts 16 to the battery housing 14 closes the end of the roller 3. A band brake 24 disposed in a housing 23 on the plate 8 and engageable with the shaft 13 is actuated through a cable by a second manual control on the handle 6. Feet 33 are provided for supporting the platform 1 on the ground.
