Abstract

1,270,239. Wrapping pipes. ROYSTON LABORATORIES Inc. 3 Dec., 1970, No. 57478/70. Heading F2P. A wrapper having a self-adhesive inner layer and an outer layer is wound on to a pipe with the inner layer adhering to the pipe with one side edge bent back upon itself so that a succeeding winding of the wrapper overlaps this bent portion to form an adhesive-to-adhesive seal. The wrapper is wound helically to form a raised helical rib on the pipe. The pipe may be coated with primer prior to wrapping. The outer layer is of:-ethylene-vinyl acetate, polypropylene, P.V.C., polycarbonates, cellulose acetate and butyrate, polyesters, polystyrene, polyethylene copolymer, and polyolefins. The inner layer is of:-natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, neoprene, nitrile rubber, ethylene propylene copolymer, P.V.C., and polysulphide rubber.
