Wire is rolled in a continuous mill having horizontal-vertical or horizontal-horizontal two high roll units in a block arrangement, the roll grooves being of rhomboidal shape and the wire being fed from pass to pass with tension or loop formation. The sides 19 of the grooves 18 in each of the rolls are straight and are arranged at the same angle to the roll axis.
