Abstract

1,267,843. Break spinning. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. 29 Sept., 1970 [13 Oct., 1969], No. 50263/69. Heading DID. A break spinning unit has a first housing containing opening means, and a second housing containing spinning means and a closure member therefor. The housings are movable between a first spinning position in which the closure member is held closed and a second (inoperative) position in which the closure member is free or is moved to gain access to the spinning means. As described the opening and spinning housings slide vertically, the lower spinning housing sliding further downwardly than the opening housing so that the closure lid (28) for the spinning is free to pivot forwardly. The opening and spinning means can be disengaged from their drives and braked during the vertical movement. The housings can be held in the spinning position by a pneumatic cylinder.
