Abstract
1,267,679. Rocket firing device. COMET-APPARATEBAU G.m.b.H. 13 March, 1969 [22 May, 1968], No. 13309/69. Headings F3A and F3X. A rocket firing device, e.g. for firing lines, comprises a firing tube 10 the rear end of which is in communication with a firing device 12 through a firing duct 32 formed in a holder tube 11. The firing device 12 houses and explodes a cartridge, hot gases from which explosion pass through the firing duct 32 to ignite the rocket propellant charge. The gas stream from the propellant charge is deflected forwardly of the rocket firing device. To this end, a deflector member 18 is provided, the member 18 preferably having apertures 21 in its circumference and a ring-shaped holder 19 by which the rear of the rocket 22 is centred in the device. The forward end of the device is provided with a guide frame 28 to which a firing line may be connected, the rocket being centred therein by spring elements 35 and a holding means 36. The holding means 36 also connects the guide frame to the rocket. The annular space about the centred rocket forms a duct for the forward escape of the propellant gases.
