Abstract

In a telemetering system for repeating the readings of the pointer 20 Fig. 1, of a meter 10, the pointer is coupled to a variable capacitor C3 which determines the frequency of an oscillator 21. The oscillations are transmitted by antennae 24, 28 Fig.3, to a receiver 26 on a mobile vehicle where they are recorded on a tape for subsequent frequency measurement. The variance frequency signal may be superposed on a carrier frequency characteristic of the meter and/or its location. The pointers of a number of meters at the same location may be sensed sequentially by a rotating switch which sequentially energises the individual transmitters.
