Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy of a position signal regardless of the height of a radio frequency by receiving radio wave transmitted from a transmitter and detecting the present position by dividing the radio wave receiving period into half. CONSTITUTION:The signal of a position signal generator 33 in a transmitter 3 provided in the vicinity of a road is applied to a transmitter 4 and transmitted from a transmission antenna 32 to the air. This signal radio wave is received via an antenna 11 provided at a vehicle from a receiver 12 to temporarily store it via a signal detector 13 in a memory 14. A range detector 16 such as speedometer or the like is provided at the vehicle to detect the distance from the departure to the present position and to apply it to a position detector 15. The bearing of the present position is detected via a bearing detector 17 via a magnet or the like and applied to the detector 15. The detector 15 detects the accurate present position of the vehicle from the input signals to display it on the display unit such as in control center or the like.
