Abstract

[Also in Divisions D1-D2] Means for the storage and handling of cables in coils 6 comprises a set of supports 1, each support being in the shape of a U and designed so that its base 5 can be fitted on to the ends of the branches 3, 4 of an identical support, the lower surface of each support being provided with two parallel positioning ribs 11, 12, the distance between them being different from that of the U-shaped branches 3, 4, so that the support is located relative to the immediately adjacent lower support. The assembly is made rigid by means of tie-bolts 13 passing through holes 15 in the branches 3, 4 and also through holes 16 in the ribs of the superimposed support. The supports are preferably made of folded sheet metal, the ribs being formed of angle-pieces having one flange welded to the base of the support. A swing-bar 2 may be provided having means, e.g. staple 23, for suspending the coil storage means and hooks 24 for the engagement of the supports.
