[Also in Divisions E1-E2] A trailer or semi-trailer has its standard container engaging twistlocks in the form of jacks which can raise the container from the vehicle for the positioning of supporting legs which allow the vehicle to be driven below the container to effect its loading or unloading. The twistlocks, of which at least three are provided, have bosses 8 turnably by a handle 12 and are removably mounted in a strap 4 so that their longitudinal spacing can be varied and each comprises an hydraulic cylinder 6 by which the boss 8 and head 14 can be raised to lift the container. Modified mounting brackets are shown in one of which the twistlocks are permanently secured.
