Abstract

1,264,092. Non-woven fabric apparatus. ISERE-NORD. 28 Jan., 1970 [29 Jan., 1969], No. 4203/70. Heading D1R. Apparatus for forming non-woven net fabrics has a rotatable hollow tubular threadguide arm 20 for winding continuous thread or filament of natural or synthetic material e.g. glass fibre thread around spaced supports 40, 42 to form a plurality of parallel reaches R therebetween. Each support comprises an elongate rotatable tube 48 having a helical slot 49 along its length. Bearing means 58, 59 and 61, 62 support the tubes 48 for rotation but prevent displacement from its axis of rotation. During rotation of the tubes 48 the thread reaches R are advanced along the length of the tube to form a weft sheet. One or more sheets of warp threads 90, 92 are combined in contiguous co-planar relationship with the weft sheet by means of rotatable rollers 84, 86. The combined sheets are secured together by passage through a bath 100 containing binder and over heated rollers 104, 105 and collected on roller 106.
