Abstract
1,263,284. Wings for aircraft; propelling aircraft. P. ORAZI. 10 April, 1969, No. 18516/69. Headings B7G and B7W. In a rotary wing assembly for an aircraft, the wing rotates about its span axis and comprises a central spanwise-extending spar 1 with a plurality of transverse ribs 2 in a common plane and sheets 3, providing the wing surfaces, that extend over the framework of spar and ribs, the sheets on opposite sides of the spar being located on opposite surfaces of the ribs. The spar is tubular with diametrically opposed apertures through which the ribs extend and the sheets 3 are each attached to one side only of the wing by screws or rivets 4. The free edges 3a of the sheets 3 are angled in opposite directions so that, during rotation of the wing, they are maintained more firmly in position by air pressure.
