Abstract

1,262,434. Detachable handles. SVENSKA METALLVERKEN A.B. March 11, 1970 [March 21, 1969], No. 11681/70. Heading A4A. A projection 12 on a vessel has a portion 13 which protudes into a rectangular section opening 14 in a handle. An upwardly projecting tooth 17 engages the step 18 when the handle is swung down into position for use. It is locked in this position by latching means 20 which comprises a sliding member with a wedge shaped portion 21 which is inserted by a spring 24 below a slanting lower surface 19 of the projection and thus prevents the handle being tilted. The latching means is disengaged manually by the projecting portion 26 which operates in a cutout 27 which is covered against ingress of foreign matter by portion 28. The depth of engagement of the handle is limited by the abutments 29 and 30. The whole system is preferably made of plastics material.
