In an actuator, such as for use with a gauge measuring the pressure of corrosive liquids, comprising an upper chamber 12, filled with liquid of a non-corrosive liquid, communicating with a pressure gauge 10, and a lower chamber 3, to which is fed the corrosive liquid the pressure of which it is desired to register, the arrangement is such that the upper and lower chambers 12, 3 are separated by a wall 4 provided with a central hole 5 having an upwardly projecting flange 7 over which is placed the open end of a plastics or rubber, pliable, closed ended tube 6 which is then sealed or clamped.
