Abstract

1,261,770. Collapsible paddling pool. P. B. COW & CO. Ltd. Aug.18, 1970 [Aug. 20, 1969], No. 41564/69. Heading A4N. A collapsible paddling pool comprises a circular base 3, welded at 7 to an upstanding wall 5, a separate corrugated semi-rigid member 9 of substantially the same height as the wall 5, and an endless strip of flexible plastics beading 11 having a downwardly facing groove 13 in which the wall 5 with its upper edge folded over the top edge of the member 9 is gripped by a force-fit. The base 3 and wall 5 are made of a flexible plastics material. The semi-rigid member 5 comprises a sheet of corrugated plastics material bent into a ring with its diameter substantially the same as that of the base 3, and joined together at its ends by two projecting hooked tongues on one end engaging slots in the other end. Alternatively, the member 9 may be arranged on the inside of the wall 5. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the side wall 5 is bent over the member 9 forming a wall (15) which may extend at least partly down to the level of the base 3 and which may be located inwardly of the member 9.
