Abstract

1,261,072. Expansion joint covers. P. SCHULTE-STEMMERK K.G. FUR INDUSTRIE UND HANDEL. 29 Jan., 1969 [1 Feb., 1968], No. 4853/69. Heading E1B. An expansion joint cover assembly comprises a mushroom type cover strip 4 the stalk having external serrations 7 or having a longitudinal groove with serrations on the inside faces of this groove (Fig. 2, not shown). The strip is held in position by a rail 5 provided with a serrated groove 6 into which the web fits or by a rail one web of which is serrated and fits in the groove in the web of the cover strip (Fig. 2, not shown). The rail is secured to one element 1a only by adhesive, bolt screw or the like, preferably with an interposed strip of cellular rubber. The head of the strip may be bent to cover joints between elements at right angles (Fig. 5, not shown). The strip may be of hard P.V.C. or both the strip and the rail may be of aluminium or its alloys.
