Abstract
1,260,817. Sanitary closets: prefabricated service units. R. BUCHER. 14 April, 1970 [15 April, 1969], No. 17819/70. Headings E1A and E1C. [Also in Division A4] A prefabricated sanitary unit comprises at least two sanitary fittings, e.g. a water closet 2 and bidet 3 plumbed into means which supports the fittings, is mounted to rotate about a vertical axis and incorporates at least one partition, e.g. 11 which separates the sanitary fittings 2 and 3. The sanitary fittings may be flushed via pipes 9 and 10 supplied respectively by cisterns (8), Fig. 1 (not shown); mounted on the partition; and discharged through a common pipe (4), which rotates with the unit, into a stationary elbow 6 and hence into a drainage pipe 7. More than two sanitary fittings, Fig. 3 (not shown), e.g. a water closet (530) a bidet (54) and a shower (48) may be employed; a wash basin may also be included as one of the fittings. Ventilation is provided through a duct 42 connected to suction ports 43 and 44. As shown the unit is combined with a bath 1 in a separate room with a connecting door 29. External doors 28 and 30 are also provided. The unit is rotated to bring the desired fitting to the in use position either manually or by means of an electric motor (not shown).
